We're acknowledged fans of Onra - the French producer renowned for his disco/electro/boogie tracksmanship and predilection for flipping Far Eastern samples . His latest endeavor, however, may surprise some folks. Yatha Bhuta Jazz Combo is a collaboration with fellow producer Buddy Sativa - a meditative, largely improvised spiritual jazz project not originally intended for commercial release. Thankfully, it will be, though - via Dublin's All City in early April, complete with artwork licensed from the estate of the late Mati Klarwein - the artist whose work covered such classics as Miles Davis' Bitches Brew , Last Poets' This is Madness , Santana's Abraxas , Earth, Wind & Fire' Last Days In Time and more. If you're a fan of the vintage Strata East/Black Jazz sound and their ilk, you'll no doubt enjoy it as we have. Listen below for a mini-mix of tracks from the LP and peep back album art and a short video of the duo in the lab.
