In case you missed it, earlier today Jay-Z dropped a new song, "Open Letter," on which he heatedly addressed such recent hot topics as he and wife Beyoncé's trip to Communist Cuba, his decision to sell his ownership stake in the Brooklyn Nets, his ventures into sports representation yada yada yada. The song, of course, has only served to increase media scrutiny of Hov's every move. Hence, today's White House press corps briefing in which press secretary Jay Carney was forced to explain to one overzealous reporter whether Jay-Z had in fact received clearance directly from President Obama (as the song's lyrics boast) to visit Havana. " It's a song ," an understated but clearly annoyed Carney says at one point. A million and one questions, indeed.
