1. 10 Videos Celebrating 20th Anniversary of Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth's "Mecca and the Soul Brother" Album.

Tomorrow, June 9th, marks two decades since the release of Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth 's classic debut album, Mecca and the Soul Brother . A masterful effort keyed by emotionally resonant singles like "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)," Mecca provided an exemplary showcase for Pete's intricately layered production and C.L.'s smoothly dispensed riddle-like rhymes, epitomizing the East Coast sound at its most early '90s soulful. To commemorate the anniversary, our colleagues UPNORTHTRIPS / @upnorthtrips , the masters of Internet diggin', have selected 10 video clips of Pete and C.L in performance and conversation from back in the Mecca and the Soul Brother era while we've provided descriptions. Salute, Pete and C.L.! Peep the vids, after the jump...

Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth - "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)" Live on The Arsenio Hall Show (1992)

Heartfelt tribute with some moments of levity (like toe counting). Aresenio says it best at the end of the performance: "Couldn't be no better!"

Welcome's to Pete Rock's basement in the heart of Mount Vernon where all the flavor's at... and please say hello to one-year-old Lil' C.L. chillin' with his pops. Later, we take a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood with our rapper host rapping and his DJ beatboxing. (Today's lesson courtesy of C.L.: "Lyrical content is important, B.")
