This Wednesday evening, July 23rd, in Harlem our friends at the Maysles Cinema present a FREE screening of the documentary film The Night James Brown Saved Boston . The film tells the story of the Godfather of Soul’s concert at the Boston Garden on the night of April 5th, 1968 after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – an event largely credited for quelling violence in the Bean as other cities across the nation succumbed to rioting. Before the film our own Chairman Mao will be on hand to spin an all-James Brown DJ set. Lawn chairs permitted and 100% FREE.
