1. AUDIO: tabi Bonney ft. Yasiin Bey - "Chop Chop" (prod. by Ski Beatz) (Free Download).

Togo, West Africa-born, D.C.-based tabi Bonney drops a free LP entitled Endless Summer this Thursday, May 17th. Bonney's "Chop Chop" finds him teamed with a pair of esteemed veteranos in Mos - doh! - we mean, Yasiin Bey , and producer Ski Beatz (a/k/a Ski, a/k/a Will-Ski for all you Bizzie Boyz fans). Is this the mos' def-est rap track to prominently feature haunting steel drum samples since 50's "P.I.M.P."?!? (It's pretty damn dope - no joke.) Ponder that while you take a listen, after the jump...

The sample is fantastic, it reminds me a song but it's impossible to find this at the moment, got an idea ?

This is good, is this actually *new*? Or from the vaults?

As far as we know it's new. But then again, what's "new" in the Internet age?

    • http://twitter.com/whitesaid @whitesaid

Right, well I will just pump it like they do in the future...then it has to be new.

I suppose I meant should I be excited for/anticipate even more Yasiin/tabi/Ski upcoming work or was this just something they sat on for 5-6 years.

Everything is from the past and is old. Everything you see is milliseconds late. Every album that is released is 3 months old, they have to record it. Your new car always have 15 miles on it. I think Bey could rap over a loop of a hobo coughing and it'd be good. He's mastered his style.
