1. You, Yes YOU, Can Support the Stones Throw Records Documentary (VIDEO).

Funds are currently being raised for Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton (This is Stones Throw Records) , a proposed documentary by filmmaker Jeff Broadway with a score by none other than Madlib .

Word is that there already exists "tens of hours of footage already shot," but a Kickstarter campaign (lasting until November 29) has been started to secure additional money to do more shoots and to help with editing costs. There's a bunch of Stone Throw-related "rewards" from the label's storied history for people who contribute certain amounts, including exclusive new merchandise made specifically for the film. (Some of those new items are still in the works, but check out the gallery above for other items from ST's past being offered to folks who donate. Plus, check out the trailer for Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton .)

i'll donate if i can get madlib's unreleased solo lp, a street date for the 2nd madvillan and a new quasimoto lp.

    • thetruthspeaker

      You're getting none of those!
They turned from a real label into a dodgy hipster one.
maybe 1/10 releases are good these days.
      Sad...

i noticed that too. they release strange music, kind of indie rock, electro crap... far away from what they stood for in the past.
