1. Run-D.M.C.’s
    “Very Special Christmas” (VIDEO).

Here’s Run-D.M.C. back in 1987 as part of a program publicizing A Very Special Christmas , the charity compilation album that launched a long-running series of musical holiday cheer in support of helping out the Special Olympics. We get to hear from record exec Jimmy Iovine , before paying a quick visit to the set of the “Christmas in Hollis” video , where we hear from the clip’s director Michael Holman of Graffiti Rock! fame. And, of course, the Kings from Queens have their say. (Don’t blink or you’ll miss the cameo by Sting .)

As an added bonus, check out Run-D.M.C. performing their Xmas classic on Nickelodeon’s All That in 1996.
