1. SEE, HEAR: Run-D.M.C. x Kid Creole x Lisa Lisa on Talk Show "Midday Live with Bill Boggs" (1986).

Yesterday we traveled back to get a taste of what life was like at the Def Jam offices 25 years ago . Today we go back slightly further as we find ourselves rollin' with RUSH management artists Run-D.M.C. , who appeared on the WNEW talk show Midday Live with Bill Boggs in 1986 as part of a panel composed of musical artists that were attending the first ever New York Music Awards at Madison Square Garden. Joining the Kings of Rock were freestyle icon Lisa Lisa, the experimental swing band Kid Creole & The Coconuts (including Coati Mundi) and CBGB regular turned multi-styled singer-songwriter Willy DeVille . With the rap genre still a fresh and exciting movement at the time, most of the attention is centered around Run and D.M.C. who get the chance to plug their Rick Rubin-directed movie Tougher Than Leather . Amongst the highlights is seeing Jam Master Jay and the Cult Jam just chillin' in the studio audience, host Boggs flirting with the Coconuts, and towards the end, hearing the response from the future reality TV star Rev Run when a lady asks if Run-D.M.C. are interested in doing their own television program. Find out what he said after the break...
