The "Godfather of Noyze" himself, Rahzel lent his considerable beatboxing skills to the US premiere of artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's travelling audio-visual installation earlier this month. Entitled "Voice Array" it's described in the press release as enabling visitors to "speak into a recorder and watch as their words are transformed into flashes of light traveling across an array of 288 LEDs." If this sounds a little tricky to imagine, we'll be happy to help you out: there's actual video in the image gallery above. Go ahead and click!
New Yorkers can check out the installation (sans Godfather of Noyze, of course) until October 13 at bitforms gallery in Chelsea.
