In what looks like will be tons of fun(k) and a mandatory Fall music purchase, the almighty Numero Group do it big with Purple Snow: Forecasting the Minneapolis Sound — a 32-track compilation (two CDs, or for vinyl purists, four LPs) of late '70s/early '80s music from the Twin Cities (including early efforts by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis , Alexander O'Neal , and many lesser-known-but-still-dope artists) before the Purple One reigned supreme over nearly everyone. The collection goes on sale on November 12, and as seen in the trailer for the project, the hardbound full-color book that accompanies Purple Snow is packed with some eye-catching photos that really capture the era.
