Okay, just like this we slept crazy hard on this project, but couldn't resist showing it some retroactive love. When it comes to the turntable vs. the CDJ - aesthetically it's no contest; turntable wins every time, all day every day, right? That said, Pioneer's 2011 DJ For Art campaign - which enlisted various artists and DJs to use the company's CDJ-2000 Digital Music Player as a canvas to benefit the VH1 Save the Music Foundation - produced some pretty ill results. Those tapped to re-imagine these decks: BT, Bob Haro, George Thompson, Jesse Graves, Joe Hahn, Man One, Ritzy Periwinkle, ROSTARR, Steve Aoki, The Crystal Method, Tommy Lee & DJ Aero as well as Victor "Marka27" Quiñonez. Partial to Jesse Graves' Lego joint (seen above). But all in all who knew CDJs could look this cool?
