Frankly, when we took a glance yesterday at the artwork pictured above we figured it was an ad for Jacob the Jeweler ripped from the pages of an old Don Diva magazine. Upon closer inspection, it is, of course, propaganda shot in shadowy black 'n' white for the upcoming Nas album. This new track, "The Don," is a bit like the grimey Rotten Apple of old, a much more ethnic enclave that boasted much more genuinely exotic sights and sounds and much less hipster posturing. Punctuated by the presence of the dancehall don dada Super Cat's chattering - and boasting a spicy mix of sonic thrills from the production combo consisting of the late Heavy D, Salaam Remi and Da Internz - it's enough to pique our interest for future material from the ex-Escobar. Listen below and judge for yourselves.
