    Red Bull Music Academy 's great "beat:repeat NYC" vid series concludes with a look at the behind the scenes story of Blondie 's 1979 smash "Heart of Glass" - a tune whose electronic creative root can be pinpointed in its unexpected use of the Roland CR-78 drum machine. As bandleader Chris Stein recalls, the 78 wasn't exactly renowned as the hippest piece of studio hardware at the time ("These were used for Guy Lombardo type bands in the early days"). But in its percolating preset rhythms lay the foundation for a new wave/disco classic.
