Master of horror John Carpenter is recognized equally for his cinematic and musical prowess (just ask Afrika Bambaataa – an acknowledged fan). Together with frequent co-composer Alan Howarth, the man responsible for scaring the crap out of audiences worldwide with such films as Halloween, Assault on Precinct 13, Escape From New York, The Fog and so on, has also scored many of his motion pictures, lacing them with a brilliant and influential onslaught of riveting electronic compositions that you can feel down to your bones. And in one instance he did not handle the music for one of his movies, he handed the reins over to the great Ennio Morricone for The Thing. How badass is that?
This mix we stumbled upon from The Ghost That Walks is pure class, the perfect soundtrack for any pre-Halloween festivities.
