We really dug the last time we heard from Oklahoma’s Jabee, who was busy drawing limitless inspiration from the movie Boyz N The Hood on his two thumbs up track, “Doughboy.” Although not a sequel, his latest musical adventure, “Stephanie,” is just as compelling and takes a cinematic turn of its own with a hook sung by Miss Durand (“You sho’ is ugly”) that references The Color Purple. A powerful punch is provided by El-P’s signature production full of that stuttering, futuristic boom bap. OK + BK is A-OK with us.
