1. J. Cole — “Cole Summer” (AUDIO).

This dropped last night and instantly got a strong response. We admit we been lacking in our J. Cole coverage, but this “Cole Summer” track (which apparently won’t live on his nearly complete sophomore album, Born Sinner ) has regained our attention. Produced by Cole, the track draws its inspiration from Lauryn Hill ‘s “Nothing Even Matters,” which featured soulman D’Angelo . “This sample was yellin’, ‘Loop me!’/ Ms. Hill, please don’t sue me/ ‘Cause I ain’t one of these rappers out here frontin’ like he got it…” Well, that might be the case, but this here song is rich in quality.
