Norway’s DJ Fredfades drops another soul mix, the sequel to this excellent offering from a while back. Touchdown Soul #2 scores with a winning combination of smoothed out modern, grittier ’60s fare, funk, even some gospel.
As Fred explains::
When the winter kicks in, I bring the heat out… It’s been a while (11 months) since last time I did a soul mix. Threw together a new one for you. 25 of my favourite soul tracks handpicked from my soul collection. 24 of them are 45’s, and one of them are from a LP. The style is ranging from mostly crossover to downtempo modern. There’s some semi-danceable stuff there as well. some of them are one-dollar records, and some of them are hyper-rare…
Obviously not iPod inclined, Fred also notes that the whole thing clocks in at just under 80 minutes on purpose: “That means it will be possible for me to burn it on a CDR and bump in the car, which is important to me.” You, however, should feel free to bump it any way you want.
