1. Beautiful Swimmers' Don Cherry Tribute Mix (Free Download).

London's One Handed Music - the folks who recently brought us Mo Kolours ' atmospheric left field dub/soul - have commenced a "Dedication Series" in which they ask friends and collaborators to shine some light on a favorite musician, group, songwriter or producer. Inaugurating the series is Washington D.C. DJ/production duo Beautiful Swimmers - who have put together a tremendous hour-long mix of tunes by and featuring the late, great Mr. Don Cherry - the trailblazing bandleader and jazz trumpet progressive who collaborated with everyone from Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane, and Albert Ayler to Lou Reed and Talking Heads. (He was also Neneh Cherry's stepfather - which gave young miss "Buffalo Stance" instant cred amongst those in the know back in the day.) From the classic "Brown Rice" through the exquisite "Piece 1" with Terry Riley and Karl Berger, this is spiritually powerful stuff. Check the tracklist, and listen and download it... after the jump...

      Hi,
      That's a nice one.
One minor thing though, it's not Karl Berger in Köln piece, it's me.
