DMC‘s initials have variously stood for “Devastating Mic Controller,” “never Dirty, Mostly Clean,” and other self-descriptions in rhyme. Include “Darryl Makes Comics” to the list as the King from Queens debuts his graphic novel, DMC#0, at New York Comic Con this weekend. An ’80s period piece in which superhero Darryl Mac fights injustice on Gotham’s streets, the comic features two different covers. The first, created specifically for Comic Con, features DC cover artist Ken Lashley, graf legend Carlos Mare and “vintage digital pin up painter,” Derek Santiago. The second cover is penciled by Damion Scott, inked by Dexter Vines, colored by Christopher Sotomayor and also features graf by Mare. DMC will be signing both in person this Saturday at Comic Con.
