Latest edition of my RBMA Radio show "Across 135th Street" is another soul 45 ballads bonanza. If you dug the last one you'll probably enjoy this one too. Listen below (and check the blurb for more info). And as per usual in lieu of a playlist you can hit up the gallery to see label scans of all the records featured in the show as you listen. Enjoy!

It’s back. 60 minutes of the finest in romance, heartbreak and sweetly soulful melodrama (more than occasionally delivered via piercing falsetto): “Across 135th Street’s” “Super Soul Ballads Power Hour” – part deux. Host Chairman Jeff(erson) Mao selects and spins the emotion-infused vintage 45s – from the stop-n-start stabs of The Page Three’s desperate opener “Wait! One Minute, Baby” through the suicidal soul of Rhonda Davis’ “Long Walk On a Short Pier” through two equally lovely renditions of the Mark-Keys’ (or is it Mar-Keys?) appropriately titled “Heavenly Thing” through the lowrider style kiddie soul of Jack & the Mods’ arithmetically astute “One Is Enough For One.” Whether navigating wide turns with diamonds in the back or stationary, crying in your beer at the bar, your soundtrack is set.
