1. THE BEST OF RACISM: Boston Bruins Fans Call Hockey Player Joel Ward The N-Word on Twitter.

When it comes to racism on Twitter, it seems sports fans don’t need any ice breakers. Boston Bruins fans didn’t waste any time venting over the crushing overtime loss at home against the Washington Capitals in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals last night. The defending Stanley Cup champs had a tough series, with every game being decided by one goal. While some Bruin backers suffered the defeat with class, the same couldn’t be said for those who shot hateful tweets at Joel Ward, the Capitals winger who scored the OT winner and happens to be Black. Timelines were flooded with the n-word as the Bruins season melted away.
To his credit, Ward took the ugly incident in stride. “I’m definitely getting a lot of support,” he told USA Today . “There have been a lot of Boston fans who have supported me, which is very cool to see. No hard feelings from me. This is a game.” Peep the cold-hearted tweets…
