1. Blazing Hip-Hop and R&B

The Boston Phoenix excerpted my apartment fire essay from the Nasher Museum’s catalog for The Record exhibition.

The published title is “Blazing Hip-Hop and R&B.”

Hua Hsu suggested calling it “The Roof Is On Fire Is On Fire.”

Speaking of Hua, just did his radio show, “Rude Health,” at WVKR to accompany my first talk on Sustained Decay at Vassar College. Download it here .

Included: Muppet bass, Chicago vocoder house, Japanese vocoder thing I really really need, a dope kid boogie record about the Teen Depot in Greensboro, NC, Janet remix by Jimmy and Terry, marching band bass by Speakerhead, a guy named TAMPA TONY, Sistrunk on Turf Handler, a song called “Ackabacka” that includes the line: “Kiss my Moonraker.”

Special paperback edition of How To Wreck A Nice Beach , this Fall.
