Posting this for posterity’s sake. A song from Big Sean‘s new album that didn’t make the cut due to sample clearance, it immediately caused a full-blown ruckus last night due to Kendrick Lamar‘s verse, in which he says stuff like “I’m the King of New York,” and gets drunk-levels honest by stating:
“I’m usually homeboys with the same niggas I’m rhymin’ with/ But this is hip-hop and them niggas should know what time it is/ And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all, but I’m tryin’ to murder you niggas/ Tryin’ to make sure your core fans never heard of you niggas/ They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you niggas…”
The track is produced by No I.D. Most of y’all probably already heard this one, but for those of you *ahem* mature folks (like us) who can’t be bothered with rap stuff on a weekday after 8PM because you’re too busy puttin’ (baby) heads to bed or re-arranging sock drawers, here it is.
