In France, big-time actors will lend their voices to hip hop cartoons. In America, we get Cars 2. But there's a simpler reason we here at ego trip slept on it this 2 years old animated flick: it's in French and we can't understand a cotdamn word. But thanks to the homies at Google Translate, we've learned that this feature length joint is based on the TV series that first ran on France's Canal Plus back in 2000. Interestingly, the main character Tony Merguez (in the bucket hat) is voiced by actor Vincent Cassel, last seen in local cineplexes taunting a certain fridgid ballerina in Black Swan . But wait...it gets blacker : The venerated Monsieur Cassel's screen debut was in le french hood-classique La Haine (1995). Not only that, but Cassel's brother is a member de seminal French rap-outfit Assassin. Can you get any hipper or hopper than that, son? Didn't think so. Don't let the language fool you; we been to Paris. Dem ninjas is gulllllllly .
