1. WATCH: 1984 News Report about Breakdancing in Madison, Wisconsin.

Here is a local news broadcast from the midwest spotlighting the early ’80s popularity of breakin’, or breakdancing as it became known, the global dance phenomenon born in New York City. The featured crew is called Soul Patrol from Madison, WI (fresh from an appearance at the University of Wisconsin’s Union South) who are seen sporting some matching sleeveless Union Jack shirts (Def Leppard influence?) and bustin’ out “Houdini-like contortions,” according to the reporter. Things get unintentionally pause worthy at the minute mark. (Props to stevegrip for the upload.)
