If any Twitter-addicted youngin's out there raised on tricknology like Internet chat rooms ever wonder what "old" fogies used to do for fun back when they were still teenagers some 20-odd years ago they need look no further than this ancient television ad for an Ice Cube hotline. Way back then you simply couldn't just @ a muthafucka. No, you had to pick up a phone, dial up 11 digits and then risk getting your ass whooped by angry parents weeks later when the phone bill came and you discovered that $2 a minute adds up pronto. While 1-900 numbers that specialized in adults only dirty talk were all the rage, rappers surely weren't gonna be left out of grabbing a piece of the pie.

Truth be told, Cube and his Lench Mob homies didn't seem like the friendliest cats to call and chat with, but it was way more exciting than ringin' a goody two shoes like Young MC. Not to be outdone, N.W.A and D.O.C. also had hotlines for dat azz.
